Curacao Sea Aquarium - A fun day out for the whole family... Curacao is surrounded by water so Marine life is very important to us. Sea Aquarium is a MUST visit if you’re about to become a Curacao-visitor soon.
The oceanfront Sea Aquarium Marine Park was built in 1984 and has since then served as a unique experience for the whole family. The distinctive complex with fresh seawater fish tanks (which are constantly pumped from the ocean) presents various cool activities. During the opening hours, 365 days a year from 8:00 till 17:00 the aquariums, touch tanks, fish tanks, theater, museum and shows are all in place for your enjoyment.
You can see unusual tropical fishes in huge fish tanks or you can touch sea stars and sea cucumbers yourself or even pet some turtles and flamingos. There are also moments when you can spot some “Feeding shows” for sharks and stingrays. You may want to snap some pictures of these remarkable moments.
The Marine Park offers several shows. The Sea Lion show is my favorite. These creatures are really cute and adorable. Don’t forget to capture these Curacao vacation moments.
The Glass bottom Boat is awesome too. Here is where you enter a boat and go down a ladder where you basically sit at the bottom of the boat which displays several windows for a perfect view of the ocean, coral reef and Caribbean fishes. After this you can go enjoy the dolphin show at the Dolphin Academy (see below). And after the hectic day touching, feeding and watching these exciting shows you can lay back and eat a great meal at the Restaurant. The entrance fee is $21/Adult and $11/Children – between 5 and 11.
TIP: Their souvenir shop has many interesting items you can buy for yourself or friends and family members back home.
NOTE: The Curacao Substation and Dolphin Academy are also part of the Sea Aquarium Marine Park.
Sea Aquarium Beach have some of the most famous beach bars and restaurants of the island:
Mambo Beach Club is one of the most popular hangouts on Curaçao. A must! You can enjoy a cocktail, but also good food. Saturday night you can party until the early hours. Tuesday night you can watch movie on the beach.
Hemingway Restaurant and Beach Bar offers cocktails, but also delicious lunch or dinner.
Cabana has DJs with daily happy hours. A cabana is a beachhut. On the beach there are several mini cabanas where you can snuggle.
Aloha Beach Bar is a no-nonsense beach bar, one of the smaller on Seaquarium Beach.
Surf & Turf specializes in local cuisine and sea-food.
Nemo Restaurant and Beach Bar offers delicious dishes. Highly recommended!
